1. Who we are

Negida Academy LLC is a limited liability company organized in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States.

Negida Academy LLC is an independent research organization. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any university, hospital, or institution where Dr. Negida, our instructors, or our team members hold academic, clinical, or research appointments.

2. No guaranteed publications

Publishing depends on your own commitment and your team’s work. Enrollment in any course, cohort, or program does not guarantee publication.

3. We never sell authorship

Authorship on any paper is based on each participant’s actual contribution, following the ICMJE authorship criteria. Payment for a course or program is never payment for authorship.

4. Personal license only

Your purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable license to use the course materials and resources. You do not own the materials, and you may not download, share, edit, or redistribute them in any form. This includes lecture videos, slides, handbooks, templates, datasets, quizzes, recordings of live sessions, and community content.

You may not share your login, resell access, record live sessions, or post materials on any website, drive, messaging group, or social network.

5. Copyright protection and penalties

All Negida Academy materials are protected by United States and international copyright law. Under United States law:

  • A copyright owner may recover statutory damages of $750 to $30,000 for each work infringed, and up to $150,000 for each work when the infringement is willful (17 U.S.C. 504(c)).
  • Willful infringement for commercial advantage or private financial gain can be a federal crime, punishable by up to 5 years in prison for a first offense (18 U.S.C. 2319) and fines of up to $250,000 for an individual (18 U.S.C. 3571).

If we find that an account has shared or redistributed our materials, we will close the account without refund and may pursue the remedies above.

6. Access period

  • One-time purchases (V2 courses, recorded courses, and live cohorts): you receive access to the course system for two years.
  • V3 courses (monthly subscription): access continues while your subscription is active.

The two-year period begins on the official access date: the date your recorded course access is granted after payment or, for a live cohort, the first official cohort start date, depending on the course type. You may start studying the recorded materials as soon as access is granted, and you may apply to join Dr. Negida’s research team as soon as you complete the required courses, according to the academy’s rules.

The access period is not paused, extended, or restarted because of non-attendance, delayed study, personal circumstances, or missing a specific cohort. Extensions may be granted only at the academy’s discretion.

7. Live sessions

Live sessions are held twice a year, for about two months each:

  • Winter course: January to March
  • Summer course: July to September

Some courses are recorded only. Hybrid courses combine recorded lessons with weekly live lectures under one enrollment. During your two-year access period, if you are enrolled in an eligible hybrid course you may attend any available cohort as many times as you wish, subject to seat availability, scheduling, and academy rules.

8. Subscriptions (V3)

V3 subscriptions renew automatically every month until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your account. Cancellation stops future charges, and your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.

9. Refunds

Our courses are digital services. We pay for video streaming and course delivery from the moment you start watching, so a refund is available only inside the window below and only while the course is still essentially unused.

What you bought Refund window
V3 course (monthly subscription) Within 24 hours of the payment
V2 course (one-time payment) Within 48 hours of the payment
Recorded-only course (for example, R Programming) Within 7 calendar days of the payment
Hybrid course or live cohort (recorded lessons plus live sessions) Within 7 calendar days of the payment
Post-course internship Before the official internship start date (see section 10)

Conditions. We refund the full amount when the request reaches us inside the window and you have not:

  • opened more than 10% of the lessons,
  • attended a live session,
  • downloaded course resources or bonus materials,
  • received a certificate, or
  • used academy services such as mentorship or consultation.

After the window has passed, or once any of these conditions is no longer met, the payment is non-refundable because the digital educational service has been delivered.

Missing a specific live cohort does not qualify for a refund, because you may attend future cohorts during your two-year access period.

How to request. Send your request through our contact page from the email address you used to purchase. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 10 business days.

If we cannot deliver. If the academy cancels a course or cohort, or cannot provide the service you paid for, you may choose a transfer to the next available cohort, a credit toward another academy service, or a full refund.

10. Post-course internship

Refund before the start date. You may request a full refund before the official internship start date, provided that all of the following are true:

  • you have not been assigned to a research group,
  • you have not been assigned to a project or research question,
  • you have not received internship materials, private group access, mentorship access, or project documents, and
  • your request reaches us before the internship officially begins.

Once group assignment, project allocation, onboarding, or mentor access has started, or once the internship has officially started, the internship fee is non-refundable. At that point you hold a place in a limited-capacity mentorship program and have been given access to its resources, recordings, meetings, and mentor follow-up.

Refunds are not provided for:

  • not attending live meetings,
  • personal schedule conflicts or limited availability,
  • not completing assigned tasks, delayed participation, or inactivity,
  • not receiving authorship because of insufficient contribution,
  • not benefiting from the internship because of poor attendance or commitment, or
  • missing emails, reminders, or meeting notifications that were sent through official academy channels.

Postponement. You may ask to postpone your internship during the first two weeks after the official start date. After two weeks, postponement is not allowed. Postponement is subject to academy approval and to availability in a future batch. The fee is not refunded if you become inactive, stop attending, or decide not to continue after the postponement window has passed.

If the academy cancels or cannot deliver. If the academy cancels an internship batch or cannot provide the promised service, you may choose a transfer to the next available batch, a credit toward another academy service, or a refund of the internship fee. This does not apply when a participant fails to attend, fails to complete tasks, or becomes inactive.
